Ever ridden in a truck without mirrors?

This was possible at the MEKRA Lang training and career day. Job application tips, plant tours and general information about training and careers at MEKRA attracted over 100 visitors to the MEKRA Lang company in Ergersheim last Saturday. The globally active manufacturer of vision systems for the commercial vehicle market opened its doors from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and offered interested visitors diverse and varied insights into a company that offers 20 apprenticeships and numerous customized development opportunities.

Leave your resume right away or meet future trainers? Hold the products in your hands or learn more about the company's environmental and climate protection? And win one of 3 tablets at the same time? Or pick up a few application tips? All this - and much more - was on offer last Saturday at MEKRA Lang in Ergersheim.

Application tips for students and women

Susanne Lang, managing partner of the Lang group of companies, took the opportunity to give job application tips for women herself. Her conclusion: women have to be more daring. "You have to communicate openly and confidently, even about deficits," Susanne Lang pointed out, "and remain authentic, otherwise misunderstandings will arise." She sees returning from a longer maternity leave as completely unproblematic, at least at MEKRA Lang, due to further training opportunities. "You bring new qualities with you that are also helpful in your job," she expressed her conviction.

In his job application training for students, Rene Fertinger explained the typical mistakes in a job application that he and his colleagues in the HR department experience almost every day: poor spelling, an incorrect subject line and a selfie as a job application picture do not give the impression of a serious application. "But if you have a genuine interest, a desire to learn in a large company and lots of fellow trainees, you're in the right place with us and are guaranteed every support," he recommends.
