MEKRA Lang enables Lebenshilfe Neustadt/Aisch - Bad Windsheim to install a CABito information system

On September 11, 2023, Lebenshilfe Neustadt/Aisch-Bad Windsheim presented the new innovative CABito information system in Lenkersheim.

Our managing partner Susanne Lang did not miss the opportunity to attend the event together with Hans Herold, chairman of Lebenshilfe Neustadt/Aisch-Bad Windsheim e.V. and Werner Mönikheim, managing director of Lebenshilfe in the district, as well as other important representatives of Lebenshilfe.

After all, the system was financed by a donation from the company and the family. Our senior boss Heinrich Lang, who was active in the foundation board from 2001 until his passing in 2021, implemented Lebenshilfe more than 45 years ago as a firm partner of the company. This philosophy is also a matter of course for his successors out of conviction. So it was a great pleasure for the family and the company to provide a donation of 10,000 euros for this system. Two thirds of the sum was donated by the family and also came from donations made during the funeral service of Mr. Heinrich Lang. The remaining sum was donated by MEKRA Lang GmbH & Co. KG as part of the company's 90th anniversary.

The Lebenshilfe im Landkreis and MEKRA Lang have been working hand in hand for 45 years. The employees from Lebenshilfe have a crucial role in our company. For example, they pack finished products and disassemble complete mirrors that are no longer usable. In the past, they helped assemble engines. Over the years, this valuable cooperation has also enabled the integration of three Lebenshilfe employees into the MEKRA Lang workforce, one of whom has been with us since 2016. This is testimony to many years of cooperation and friendship.

The donation was used to finance the innovative CABito information system in the entrance area of the Lenkersheim workshop. CABito is a barrier-free information system that offers people with and without impairments an easy and interactive way to inform and entertain themselves about the contents of the daily work as well as the menu, weather, news, current topics of the company but also games. The system was programmed by Mr. Brasin, who is a supervised employee of the Westmittelfränkische Lebenshilfe Werkstätten. With a height-adjustable touch screen and multi-modal output options, it is user-friendly and will help improve the quality of life for people in the workshop. We were so enthusiastic about the system that an appointment was immediately made with our IT department to consider the extent to which this system could also be used in our company.
