Bavarian State Award for three MEKRA Lang apprentices

This year, three apprentices from MEKRA Lang in Ergersheim were awarded the Bavarian State Prize for their outstanding achievements. Ms. Julia Lang from Reusch received the Bavarian State Award for her outstanding vocational training certificate as an industrial clerk with a final grade of 1.25. She had already received this award at the end of July during a dignified ceremony at the Bad Windsheim vocational school.

Mr. Peter Popa from Uffenheim was awarded the highest possible distinction - the Bavarian State Prize with endowment - for his outstanding vocational training certificate as an industrial mechanic. The head of the school, Mrs. Bettina Scheckel, as well as the head of the department, Mr. Christian Handschuh, and the head of the class, Mr. Harald Nenning, came to Ergersheim to the training company MEKRA Lang for the ceremonial presentation of the award in order to honor this very special achievement and to personally present the certificate to Mr. Popa. In her speech, managing partner Susanne Lang emphasized that she was very proud of the trainees and that she was particularly pleased that the state prize was awarded twice in the same year at her company.

She congratulated Ms. Julia Lang not only on the excellent completion of her training as an industrial clerk, but also praised her as an extremely reliable, committed and motivated trainee and expressed her pleasure that she will continue to actively support the purchasing team.

In her personal words for Mr. Peter Popa, Ms. Susanne Lang recalled the start of the apprentice's training at that time. Mr. Popa had come from Romania. He had no training recognized in Germany and had already worked for a long time in mirror production. At the age of 38, the family man decided to make a fresh start and begin training at MEKRA Lang. The fact that he completed this training in a shortened time with this result is all the more remarkable against this background.

The site manager at MEKRA Lang, Mr. Bernd Dehner, also congratulated the two state award winners. For his part, he acknowledged the outstanding achievements and was pleased to have such excellent and qualified skilled workers in the company.

In November 2021 came unexpected news of a third award winner, Mr. Aaron Meyer. He had already completed his training in July 2021, at the vocational school in Ansbach, with a grade of 1.2. The surprise and joy was great when he finally received a letter from the government of Middle Franconia in November, informing him that he had been awarded the state prize.

He had succeeded in completing his training at MEKRA Lang as a mechatronics technician in three years instead of the usual three and a half years.  With this shortened training period, it is particularly admirable to then also receive the state prize.

Mrs. Antonella Paal, who supervises the apprentices at MEKRA Lang from the beginning to the end of their apprenticeship and always supports them with good advice and motivating words, is also proud of her protégés.

The three state award winners now have the opportunity to take advantage of the company's internal training opportunities and gain further qualifications.
