Global recipe contest for the benefit of KinderPalliativ Erlangen

The month of August was dominated by international specialties in the anniversary year of the MEKRA Lang group of companies.

All employees of the Lang Group around the globe were asked to send their favorite recipe to the company headquarters in Ergersheim. The best recipes from the respective locations were then prepared by the chef in the Ergersheim canteen at the beginning of August. The employees then cast their votes and the three best recipes:  Arancini Siciliani, vegetarian Cig Köfte and a European vegetable curry were awarded prizes at the Global Meeting at the end of September. This also resulted in a small MEKRA cookbook, which will soon be available for download on the company website.

All proceeds from this campaign, doubled by the company, benefited another project close to the company's heart. In March, when the entrepreneurs Gerd Hartmann and Dr. Werner and Susanne Lang had taken the lead in launching a relief campaign for the Ukraine, Gerd Hartmann reported on his very special commitment to the children's palliative care unit at the Erlangen Hospital, which has existed for years. This project is so important and touching that it was a matter of course for MEKRA Lang to support it, initially with donations, but actions are also already being planned.

It is about supporting seriously ill children and their families in a very difficult time, fulfilling wishes that are not of a medical nature. Be it through the establishment of a relatives' café or the wish to celebrate Christmas in the family for the last time, even if it is only at the beginning of December. It is very impressive what the team around chief physician Dr. Gravou does here and on this day the employees of the MEKRA Lang Group were able to ensure that further small and large wishes are fulfilled and perhaps a smile can be conjured up in the faces of the little patients and their relatives.
