MEKRA Lang was recognized as one of Bavaria's 20 most family-friendly companies in the Bavarian business competition “Erfolgreich. Familienfreundlich” (Successful. Family-friendly.) The award, presented by Family Minister Ulrike Scharf and Economics Minister Hubert Aiwanger, honors our long-standing commitment to work-life balance in all areas of the company.
Family friendliness has been part of our DNA for over 90 years. We do not see supporting families as an additional service, but as a long-term investment – in our employees and in the future of the company.
A central element is the Frieda Lang Haus – our company-run Montessori daycare center with an attached all-day elementary school. With extended opening hours and vacation care, we make everyday life easier for parents in a very concrete way.
In addition, we focus on flexible and individual solutions:
- 150 different working time models, including for managers
- Up to 80% mobile working (depending on the task)
- Spontaneous support when children are ill or private challenges arise
- ElderCare as needed
- A “mothers' network” with reduced working hours outside regular shifts

Being recognized as one of Bavaria's most family-friendly companies means a great deal to us – especially as the largest employer in the Neustadt/Aisch-Bad Windsheim district. It confirms our long-standing approach and encourages us to continue investing in family friendliness.
We also see this honor as recognition of the attitude exemplified by our company founder Frieda Lang – and consistently continued by her granddaughter Susanne Lang as today's managing partner.
For us as a family business, family friendliness means not only that a family runs the company, but above all that we are there for the families of our employees. This guiding principle is particularly important to us. The award is both confirmation and motivation for us to continue to act with heart, vision, and responsibility in the future.
